Million, million, million ... knitted roses- I paraphrased a well-known song a little, because today I want to talk about crocheting one very interesting crochet rose rug , the idea of which I found all from the same Japanese craftswomen, and about knitted roses.

Crocheted rose rug

Good afternoon

Recently, the topic of rugs has become, perhaps, the most popular on my blog, although many people like to knit napkins and tablecloths. And I also really like to make different decorative pillows.

What is my favorite subject, what do you think?

Of course - roses. And I don’t even mean knitted roses now. And real live roses, which are so beautiful that they cannot leave anyone indifferent.

My first article on this blog is dedicated to, then I made a photo gallery of my rosary.

When I saw this gorgeous rug with roses, I immediately wanted to knit one.

Despite the fact that I have been knitting for a very long time, for many years, but I still did not know how to knit roses, somehow such a need did not arise.

I found one pattern of a knitted rose in my bins, another in a group of Irish lace.

Knitting roses turned out to be elementary simple.

Knitting rose pattern 1

According to the first scheme, we leave a long thread at the beginning of knitting and collect a chain of 48 air loops.

First row: skip four loops and knit double crochets, on the last loop - a single crochet.

Second row: 3 VP for lifting, 3 columns with two crochets in each loop of the base. Break the thread, leaving a long end.

It turns out a wavy strip.

We iron the wavy edge, stretching it.

We turn the strip into a spiral, starting from the bottom edge counterclockwise.

We thread the thread from the bottom edge into the needle and grab the edges of the rose.

We thread the thread from the top edge into the needle, pull it through the center of the rose and fasten it from the inside out.

It turns out a beautiful blooming knitted rose.

Knitting rose pattern 2

According to the second scheme, we knit a rose in a similar way, but it turns out to be even more beautiful due to the fact that each petal is formed.

  • We collect a chain of 75 VP.
  • First row: skip one loop, two single crochets in two loops of the chain, in the next loop - a single crochet and a double crochet, two double crochets with the next four loops of the chain, then alternate one double crochet and two column with two crochets.
  • In second row we knit the petals: single crochet, 2 double crochets, 1 double crochet, 4 times two double crochets, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets.
  • We twist the connected wavy strip in a spiral into a rosette.

A million is not a million, but we need to make several knitted roses according to any of the patterns.

We will place roses on our future rose rug. And this activity is very exciting.

To the roses still need to be tied leaves:

For the leaves, we collect seven air loops and knit first on one side a single crochet, a double crochet, three double crochets, a double crochet, five single crochets from one loop of the chain,

turn knitting: double crochet, three double crochet, double crochet, single crochet.

You can also tie longer leaves according to the same principle.

Forming a rug of roses

For the rug, we knit a round base according to the scheme with double crochets, we tie the last row.

We sew on the base, beautifully laying out large and small knitted roses and leaves.

so wonderful crochet rose rugs I have never seen different colors before. But I don’t know how they can be used: and it’s probably impossible to sit and stand on them.

On the Internet, there are a large number of diagrams and descriptions of making round or oval crocheted rugs. And many novice needlewomen, having filled their hands with a simple knitting technique for a circle, can easily make a product in the form of a flower or with a flower pattern. To do this is quite simple, despite the apparent complexity. You can easily verify this by looking at the techniques below on how to make a Flower rug using a crochet hook.

We knit a rug Flower crochet from circles with diagrams and descriptions

An interesting and simple idea for knitting a flower is suitable not only for rugs, but also for pillows.

All it takes is:

  • Threads of several colors, in this case pink, raspberry and lilac.
  • Hook number 2.5
  1. We collect 6 air.p. and connect them into a ring.
  2. We knit the next row 14 stol.s / nak.
  3. Then a row of 2 stol.s / nak. in one loop of the bottom row.
  4. Next, alternate 1 column s / nak., 2 stol.s / nak. in one loop.
  5. Fourth row 2 stol.s / nak., 2 stol.s / nak. in one loop.
  6. We continue to add in each row in the same places 14 columns / stitches, after three, then four and so on loops to the desired size.

Thus, five circles of the same size are made. Then we will connect them by bending them on both sides. To correctly determine the location and width of the folds, lay them side by side in a large circle, slightly covering each other at the same distance. We mark the points of contact with chalk and sew them together. We leave the center a little open, in the future we will decorate it.

We will decorate the center with a knitted rose. It is done very easily, the scheme is proposed below.

  1. To begin with, we collect a chain of 48 air sts, turn around and knit, starting from the fifth loop from the hook, st.s / 2 sts, in the last loop 1 sts / st.
  2. We turn the work, 3 air.p. rise, 3 stol.s/2nak. in each column of the bottom row. It turns out a wavy stripe. We complete the work.
  3. We iron the wavy side, stretching it a little. And we turn the even edge in a spiral, the wavy side will form petals.
  4. We sew the bottom of the rose with the thread that turned out to be at the bottom, and stretch the top thread with a needle through the middle of the flower and fasten it from below.

It turns out a blossoming bud.

We fix the rosette in the middle of our flower.

We make a simple and bright flower using Japanese technology

This carpet is somewhat similar to the previous one, but it is knitted according to a completely different technology, taken from Japanese magazines with patterns.

To work, you need yarn of several colors and hook number 2.

  1. Recruiting 90 air.p. cream color and close in a circle. The number of loops determines the size of the future carpet, it is calculated simply - the diameter of the ringlet will be half the total width.
  2. Next, we make four rows of columns. b / nak. behind the back wall of the loop.
  3. We make another circle in the same way, but with a black thread. One ring is ready, now we move on to the second.
  4. Before starting the next ring, it must be said that the rings are connected to each other in the process of work. For this, a chain of air.p. pull the second ring under the first and then connect it into a circle. So we knit all four rings, connecting the second to the third, the third to the fourth, and the fourth to the first. We carefully study the scheme when connecting the last circle to the first, if this is done incorrectly, then the further process will go awry. In general, in order to avoid tangling interlaced circles, it is recommended that after the third circle, lay out the knitting on a flat surface and continue working without lifting this plexus.
  5. Next, you need to fill the inside of the rings. We lay out the structure on a foam segment and attach it with pins so that the rings are even. If this is not done, then the circles can turn into ovals. We start knitting from the point of contact of the circles. We collect 3 air.p. from one circle and attach to another half-column. We pull the thread through the adjacent loop and knit 4 columns with / 2 stitches in the other direction, we connect again with a half-column.
  6. Then we knit 5 air.p. and we connect them on the other side, through the next loop we return by knitting 4 columns with / 2 nak. x 2 times.
  7. Again a chain of 9 air points, we connect and back 4 columns with / 2 nak. x 3 times. The number of loops in the chains may differ, it should be such that it lies without tension over the columns of the bottom row, as in the photo.

Continuing work, you can change the color, creating a transition.

Last column.s / 2nak. we knit through the top of the circle, connecting them into one common canvas.

Another type of rug in the form of a flower is knitted in one element with petals in the form of semicircles.

We take yarn of the same color and a hook of the required size.

We knit a chain of 12 air stitches, connect them into a ring and knit 12 columns b / nak. We continue to work in a circle according to the scheme until the fifth row.

So we carry out six leaves and complete the work.

For the contour, we take a thread of a different color and tie around the perimeter with connecting posts. Then we attach the thread with the same color to the second circular row and tie 3 air points, connecting column. round.

Floral motifs on carpets create a warm atmosphere in the house, and they can be used everywhere, from a seat on a stool to a rug in the bedroom.

Video tutorials for beginners

For clarity, we suggest watching a selection of video lessons with a step-by-step crochet rug.

I knitted this thing as a gift, slightly changing the original.
Here in the discussion there were a lot of knitting questions, so I want to help a little for those who do not know which side to approach this pretty little thing.
So, the original: a 2005 Japanese magazine (the magazine is in its entirety)
color option:

Single color option:

Scheme - sheet 1

Scheme - sheet 2

Scheme - sheet 3

My threads: I bought 50g (200m) skeins of dark green, light green, yellow and orange, Cable`5 cotton from Mondial. (Of course I bought more, there are also lilac, pink, white and red, well, this is my misfortune). There was enough, and there was more. Great for recycling leftovers.

We start with the diagram on sheet 1 - a round base. On three circular rows there are marks above the double crochets in the form of triangles, and at the bottom of the same sheet on the right are knitting patterns. These are chains of air loops and connecting posts - the basis for future leaves - they fit IMMEDIATELY, along with the base of the rug. Unfortunately, I did not photograph the whole process then, there is a photo already with leaves. This dark vein near the leaf is these chains. Of course, at first they will all curl up with funny worms, but it doesn’t matter at all. As we finish knitting the base, go to the leaves - scheme 2. They are of three different sizes, the leaves increase from the center to the edges.

Tied up, set aside, we knit roses. Scheme 2. Having turned this scheme in my hands, I decided for myself that this is not for me. Well, I couldn’t ... I knitted a completely simple version of roses according to such a completely ordinary pattern:

One large, a little smaller and small. The size was selected by eye, having connected the sample once and counting which ones I need. These roses are simply twisted and sewn - I sewed them to the base, focusing on the layout according to the picture and the layout on the third sheet. I fixed it in several places on the base, tucked the tails of the threads inward.

Crocheted rugs have recently gained great popularity: square (as in the photo below), rectangular carpet, round, oval, made of thread (from yarn), twine or leftover rags, on a chair or on the bathroom floor. All options are good. The most important thing is that such a magnificent carpet can be crocheted by itself, using the diagram and description, step-by-step instructions, or based on a video tutorial on YouTube or MK (master class: How to crochet a rug diagram and description).

In addition to decorating your home, creating a cozy atmosphere in it, this is also a good way for any needlewoman to practice and develop her creative abilities. Everyone remembers grandmother's knitwear throughout the house, I would very much like to make these myself: on bedside tables, a stool, in the hallway, in the kitchen. Lace motifs are very airy and immediately attract a lot of attention.

As if you are typing them with a regular thread. Close V.P. in a chain and sew the junction for strength. The knitting pattern is attached below. Using it and simple yarn, you can knit a round rug.

Rug from old T-shirts

  5. S.S.N. around the circle.
  6. The lilac thread should be fixed after the previous row. Now knit purple. We make 1 P. on the hook. S.S.N around the circle.

  15. At the very end, the “teeth” pattern. From 1 P. 6 S.B.N. = repeat in every 6 sts. You're done! The same option can be made from a cord.

Crochet flower rug is an interesting idea for home comfort. Many, perhaps, have already seen such rugs and know how to knit them. But I also want to have such an exotic flower, like other original beautiful ideas.

How to crochet a flower rug

I took pink, raspberry and lilac yarn and crocheted No. 2.5 five identical circles with double crochets, changing the color of the yarn in the rows.

You can see the knitting pattern for the circle. In principle, you can do without a scheme. I usually do the following:

I dial 6VP, close them in a ring.

1st row: 14 C1H in the ring,

2nd row: 2 C1H in each column of the previous row.

3rd row: 1С1Н, 2 С1Н in one column of the previous row.

4th row: 2С1Н, 2 С1Н in one column of the previous row.

After all five circles of the rug are connected, you need to connect them. To do this, we bend each circle on both sides, place them side by side in one large circle in order to determine the required width of the folds. We mark the places of the folds with chalk and sew the circles together in pairs.

In the center of the crocheted flower rug, a small hole is obtained, which must be decorated with either a small knitted circle or a flower. I sewed on a rosette that I knitted earlier for, and it came up in color.

Here is such an exotic flower! In my flower beds on the site near the house, this has not happened yet.

But that is not all!

Let's do a little magic and ... turn the rug into a pillow!

Exactly the same as I did with the other one.

I tied the entire rug with four rows of double crochets without any increase in the rows. I described this principle for knitting. In this way, the end side of the pillow was obtained. I tied the base and attached the upper part of the rug to it, or rather, the future pillow.

You can sew the cover to the size of the pillow, fill it with holofiber (or other material) and insert the pillow into our knitted pillowcase.

This is how I crocheted two flower rugs and turned them intointeresting pillows!

Because the decorative pillows- my favorite hobby, I use different ideas for making them, be it rugs, blankets, napkins, clothes, in general, everything that I like.

New ideas for decorative pillows, rugs, throws, paintings, curtains and more are yet to come!
