We were traveling by car from Kyiv to Nikolaev to celebrate the birthday of Marusya, the sister of my boyfriend Volodya. She turned 15 that day. We are me, Vova, his mom, dad and younger sisters Sonya and Marusya... Not long before this, Vovin’s dad bought a trailer - he was going to travel with his family in the summer. The trailer was carried on the back of a trailer, and we were not driving fast. Suddenly the car shook sharply. At the same second, the car veered sharply to the right. For some reason my ears were blocked, the blue sky flashed before my eyes, then the grass, then the sky again... In the movies, such scenes are shown for a long time and in detail. And in life everything happens at lightning speed. Just now we were calmly driving along an empty highway, suddenly a huge truck came towards us, and... the air flow from it was so strong that the trailer led into a ditch, and it dragged the car behind it... We spun about five times. I lost consciousness.
I came to my senses, and I don’t understand where I am, what happened? I’m lying in the grass, my mouth is filled with sand, and my leg itches unbearably. I decided to see what I had there. I stood up, and what I saw shuddered all over me: a terrible open wound, my whole leg was torn. I look around, I see a mangled car to the side, people lying around without signs of life. Vova, the only one who was on his feet and could do something (fortunately, he managed to grab the door handle and stay in the car), gives Sonya artificial respiration. As it turned out, he saved his sister, because at that moment the girl was not breathing. There was nowhere to wait for help: it was unclear where our mobile phones were, Nikolaev was 100 km away, the highway was empty. Volodya came up to me and put his jacket under my head. My head was broken and blood was coming from the wound. Under the scorching sun, I soon passed out. I woke up from tremors - an ambulance arrived and they put me on a stretcher. And then I became hysterical. I started laughing and couldn’t stop until they injected me with something. When the doctors tried to cut off my hair (it interfered with stitches), I almost got into a fight. She raged and swore: “What else? I raised them for so many years. How will I sing on stage? By the way, they stitched me up sloppily. A huge scar remained on his leg for a long time, and the wound on his head did not heal. But I still got off easy and can celebrate on this day - June 8th - my second birth. But they didn’t even have time to take Volodya’s dad to the intensive care unit. Although my mother was taken by helicopter to Kyiv, she was not saved. She passed away 9 days later. And 9 days later, without regaining consciousness, Marusya died. Only Sonya recovered quickly, she is a very strong girl. But we didn't know how to tell her the truth. After all, she was only 10 years old, and for almost three months she was told that her parents and sister were in the hospital...
- How did you manage to survive such a misfortune?
It took me three months to recover and come to my senses. My parents took care of me and my friends visited me. And then I knew that I needed to get back on my feet faster. We had just started working with Potap. But Sonya, it seems to me, guessed everything. Vova endured the tragedy courageously. I asked: “How are you even holding up?” And he replied: “I can’t change anything, so I have to come to terms with it and move on with my life.” It was as if Volodya had cut off his entire past happy life. They had a very friendly family. Volodya did not cry either when his father was buried or when he said goodbye to Marusya. Only at his mother’s grave did tears come to his eyes, but he quickly pulled himself together. He still has two grandmothers and a great-grandmother still alive... He simply could not afford to relax in front of them... After the funeral, Volodya remained in Nikolaev. His family had a business there, an agricultural firm, and now he had to deal with all the business. In addition, it was necessary to take care of Sonya. Nikolaev is several hundred kilometers from Kyiv, but I went there every free day. One day I arrived, and Vova fell ill. I came down with bronchitis. And then at night, when I fed him various drugs, he suddenly burst into tears... He’s not made of iron. But that was the only time.
- After what you and Volodya went through, people sometimes break up only because their very existence reminds each other of what happened.
I’m sure that even if we ever separate, we still won’t be able to become strangers. This accident tied our destinies very tightly. Now I treat Vova not only as a loved one. For me he is a brother, a son, a husband, and a father...
We didn't have love at first sight. We studied together at the university at the Faculty of Economics. We were just friends for two years. And after some disco, we realized that we fell in love with each other... You know, I mostly talked to men older than me. And I was always bothered by their patronizing attitude towards me, like towards a little girl. And the feeling that I am a beautiful addition to his car. With Volodya, everything is different with us. We are the same age and communicate as equals. It is very good, clean, absolutely unspoiled. I used to think like this: “I will never cook, wash, clean. For what? You can hire a servant." But with Vova it’s different. I want to get up early and cook him breakfast. I don't yell at him when I pick up the things he scattered. Although, of course, poor Vova gets it from me. Because I am a decent ulcer.
- How does he feel about your popularity?
When we started dating three years ago, I was not yet so popular. This is my job, and Vova treats it with respect. He hates social events, so Potap and I appear at them.
- Do you still call your partner Alexey Potapenko Potap in real life?
It seems to me that if I call Potap Lesha, he simply will not understand that I am addressing him. Everyone calls him Potap. When I was at school, Potap was already performing with the group “Entrance in Changeable Shoes.” The guys were very cool, they rapped, and young people went crazy about them. I couldn’t even imagine that I would sing a duet with him. I was starting a solo career. They looked for a repertoire for me for a long time, they even recorded an album. But one day I came to my producer Ruslan on business. I’m standing, waiting outside the office, and then Potap comes up. He looked me up and down and asked: “Is that you, Kamenskikh?” Well, wow, she’s like that...” That’s impudent, I think! Then Ruslan freed himself, and I, seething with righteous anger, went into the office. And imagine, he offers me from the doorway: “I have an idea. Would you like to try to sing with Potap? I agreed. A duet is always interesting. Already after our second song “Not a Couple” we became very popular in Ukraine. Simply number one artists, after Verka Serduchka, of course. By the way, I really didn’t like this song at first. I categorically stated: “I won’t sing that!” And Potap said that I don’t understand anything, because it’s a hit. And he turned out to be right. We still sometimes argue to the point of stupor, it happens, and send each other very far away. I really hate him at this moment - according to the horoscope, we are two Taurus, it seems, we are goring each other... I don’t even treat Potap as a partner, but rather as a relative, or something. I haven’t seen him for several days, and it seems like I have something very familiar and at the same time important not nearby. And he treats me the same way.
- Last year you came to the Five Stars festival in Sochi as unknown artists, but left triumphant...
For Potap and me, it was like going into outer space. A huge venue, thousands of spectators, the jury consists entirely of bison. It seemed that no one would like us. And an hour later, on the contrary, we became confident that we would take the Grand Prix. I never expected a warm welcome from Russian show business. But in the show “Two Stars” we existed as one big family. Natasha Koroleva shared the pancakes that she brought from home, everyone teased each other... But Pugacheva struck me most of all. When Garik Kharlamov and I went on stage for the last time, I cried. Not because we only took fifth place, I just felt unbearably sad because something like this would never happen again in my life. Alla Borisovna hugged me, consoled me, called me baby. I was so touched.
- Probably, your parents are the most happy about your success...
Still would. Especially mom. She had a program for my upbringing: from the age of 4 I studied English, studied ballet for eight years, went to a music school, and sang in the choir. One day we got together for an exam. I’m dressed smartly, my mom tied me a red bow and doesn’t yell at me anymore. I sit down at the piano to rehearse one more time and lose my nerve with excitement. Then mom, without saying a word, forcefully tilts my head down and - blah blah blah - my face on the keys. I’m offended, it hurts, but I can’t cry: how can I go to the exam crying... I honestly admit, if it weren’t for my mother’s upbringing, nothing would have come of me. I would be sitting somewhere right now with a shabby manicure and drinking beer.
My mother wanted me to grow up to be an independent girl. Therefore, at the age of five, I was sent to France as part of a family exchange program. How I cried. I was so scared to leave for a foreign country. I was terribly bored, and besides, I didn’t have a good relationship with that family. They were some greedy, boring, unkind people. Their three sons mocked me, teased me, pulled my hair. When she finally returned to Kyiv, she said: “I will never leave home again in my life.” And my mother says: “Try again, go to Italy. If you don’t like it, we’ll stop traveling.” And at the age of 6 I went to Naples. I fell in love with this city. I liked everything: the city, the sea, the food, very helpful and friendly people. A week later I started speaking Italian. They quickly began to accept me as one of their own. For 7 years, I lived with the same family for six months a year, went to the local school, went shopping, and helped my foster mother prepare pasta. Now we only communicate with her by phone...
- Didn’t you try to rebel against the dictates of your parents?
I may have been offended by my mother, but I felt she was right. And then, I myself wanted to achieve something in life... I love my mother very much, but I have always been closer and more frank with my father. For me, dad is like mom. Now I can discuss everything with him - even the most intimate things. Dad is always very calm and unperturbed. Mom, on the contrary, is emotional and noisy. She is the main one in our family, or rather, dad allows her to think so. When she gets too wild, we make fun of her. I ask: “Dad, where did you even find this?” She sang in a very famous Ukrainian choir. Mom is still a very beautiful woman, but in her youth a crowd of suitors followed her. And then dad came to the choir - he worked for the KGB, and he was appointed concert director. The choir often toured abroad, so dad had to supervise something there. And he fell in love with his mother, but for three years no one knew about their relationship. In public, dad called mom only “you” - for secrecy. They got married only when I was three years old. I remember how at their wedding I crawled under a huge table and played around. My parents met quite late, but still live in love. They still arrange romantic dates, say affectionate things, even get jealous... Although mom is now 52 years old, and dad is 69. I dream that Vova and I will have the same family.
The soloist of the popular Ukrainian duet “Nastya & Potap” Nastya Kamenskikh admitted that she usually experiences terrible depression when autumn turns into winter and winter into spring. The 22-year-old singer hates the cold.
“Before, coping with a bad mood was very difficult - now it’s easier.
When I need to calm down, I run home, sit down at the computer to play, or go to the cinema with my friends - I try to have fun and not be left alone,” said Nastya Kamenskikh.
Many times her best friend Yana Shvets pulled her out of depression. “When we’re not in the mood, we put on tracksuits and go for a walk.
I live in Pechersk, and from there the view from the mountain is incredibly beautiful. So we go there on foot, buy 2 jars of tomato juice (we both love it very much!) and drink it through straws. Then we fool around.
But often our fantasies help us cope with the blues - we imagine an apartment, a car or the country of our dreams,” Nastya Kamenskikh said in an interview with the magazine “Women’s Magazine. Health".
Three years ago, the singer had an accident, which is still very difficult for her to remember.
“After the concussion, my hair began to fall out in clumps - I’ve never seen anything like this before. But I was prescribed a special medicated shampoo, vitamins, and everything went away.”
The singer’s recovery took 2-3 months, but the leg was more difficult: a very deep scar remained on it - it took a year and a half to heal. After this incident, Nastya Kamenskikh began to drive the car very carefully.
“In general, my weak points are the throat and bronchi. I treat myself with raspberries and lemon, grated with sugar. And, you know, it helps a lot - you can recover in just 2-3 days! When I have a cold, in addition to antibiotics, I take immunomodulators, vitamins, and a lot of fresh juice.”
The concert lifestyle of the duo “Nastya & Potap” is initially regimeless, the only stability is that the stars are always going somewhere.
“When I’m at home, no matter what time I go to bed, I always get up early. 10:00 is the ceiling. I go to bed quite late, because I don’t spend much time in Kyiv, but I want to do everything: see friends, go to the cinema and disco.
If it’s hard for me to get up, I run into the shower. because water is energy, strength. Then - salad for breakfast plus hot black tea with bergamot and fresh mint. Recently, following Potap’s example, I replaced sugar in tea with honey. This is a great achievement for me!” Nastya shared.
The luxurious brunette has never been good with diets, because they take time. And on tour, sometimes you don’t even have time to eat during the whole day.
“I’m a fan of buckwheat – I can eat it day and night. I love a variety of salads and citrus fruits (I lived in Italy for 7 years and got used to them). I love lemon - I add it to all my dishes. I don’t have any problems with extra pounds: usually my body controls the weight itself. When I get better, I just reduce my portions and then eat as usual again.
But recently I made a new rule - don’t eat after 18:00. For me, an example is Potap: he lost 21 kg by stopping eating all sorts of, excuse me, rubbish in the evenings. Now she doesn’t even drink alcohol, because it contains a lot of calories,” said Nastya Kamenskikh.
During her participation in the “I Dance for You” project, the singer’s arms and legs became very toned – with her partner Dima Dikusar, she practiced every day for 6-8 hours for two months. But in order to perform basic dance movements perfectly, you need to train for at least two years.
“I try to keep myself in shape. Whenever I can, in between concerts I go to the fitness club to pedal my bike. I'm bored on the treadmill, but I plan to take swimming seriously. I don’t like working out with a trainer - they gave me a training program, and I work on it myself,” Nastya Kamenskikh shared.

As “KP” in Ukraine found out, Nastya’s party will end on May 4 in one of the most fashionable clubs in New York, but the birthday girl will be careful with cocktails, because the first concert of the American tour “Potap and Nastya” is scheduled for the next day.
By the way, on July 18 the star will celebrate her second name day, and on June 8 her third. Nastya made this confession last summer after an unsuccessful parachute jump: “My first birthday is official. The second was when I survived the accident on June 8, 2006. Well, after the incident with the parachute that didn’t open, for a second I thought that could not have made it and miraculously survived!” Let us note that in 2006, the artist miraculously survived a fatal accident that claimed the lives of her ex-boyfriend Vladimir Dyatlov’s father, mother and sister... Kamensky herself was then taken to the hospital with a wounded leg and a severe concussion. By the way, Nastya still considers that terrible accident as payment for her future popularity.
She loved politics, but she was going to marry a producer
For all the 11 years that Nastya has been successfully walking arm in arm with her duet partner and producer Potap along the paths of Ukrainian show business, the girl has been credited with many novels, but Nastya has never gone out with her phantom boyfriends. And the only guy with whom the paparazzi managed to photograph Kamensky was her first great love, Vova Dyatlov from Nikolaev, with whom the artist now maintains exclusively friendly relations and even baptized the child of mutual friends together. Now, according to the singer, she feels harmonious and even plans to become a mother: “I dream about children very often. At the age of six, Nastya was enrolled in a music school, where, on the advice of her parents, she began taking vocal lessons. Another serious hobby of the baby is ballet, which she studied professionally for 8 years. Subsequently, a passion for tennis was added to his creative hobbies. And Nastya successfully combined all this with her studies at gymnasium No. 56.
The singer is confident that she owes her success entirely to her parents, who taught her strict discipline and instilled in her the ability to properly manage her time.
After graduating from school, the future celebrity entered the economics department of the Ukrainian-American Humanitarian Institute (Ukrainian branch of the Wisconsin International University), choosing the specialty “Foreign Economic Activity”.
The duet “Potap and Nastya” was born shortly after these events, in 2006, when an ambitious young man Alexey Potapenko decided to create a revolutionary project in the style of “folk r’n’b”, which would take the Ukrainian music scene to a whole new level. He took on the responsibilities of a producer, a vocalist, a songwriter, a video director, and a screenwriter... All that was needed was a spectacular, beautiful girl with outstanding vocal abilities to sing along. Friends from the music business recommended that he meet with Nastya.
“I can’t say that I liked her right away,” Potap later told reporters. And when they started recording the first compositions, the situation worsened - the singer encountered Nastya’s stony character. Judging by numerous interviews, during the first three years this couple simply hated each other off stage, but this did not stop them from producing hits in a clip, one after another.
The first composition that blew up the charts was the song “Without Love,” for which a video was shot with a fair amount of shockingness and humor. “I pretend to be a glamorous fool, Potap portrays a pretentious bastard,” Nastya said about the style of their duet.

In 2007, the guys won the Grand Prix of the III All-Russian competition for young performers “5 stars”. Over the course of three days, Potap and Nastya performed three songs from the stage (“Khutorok”, “And in our yard” and their own composition “Not a couple”), and each time Joseph Kobzon, Larisa Dolina, Nadezhda Babkina and Igor Matvienko sat on the jury awarded them the highest scores.
In 2008, Potap and Nastya’s first album was released, entitled after their main hit – “Not a Couple”. And at the end of 2009, the duo released the album “Don’t Love My Brains.” Already a very solid army of fans was waiting for incendiary new products: “Chips, Chicks, Lavandos”, “Call Your Zae”, “On the RaEne”, “Edge of My River”, “Don’t Love My Brains”.
The song and video “Na raEne” became incredibly popular outside of Ukraine. In the video, Nastya Kamenskikh appeared made up as the notorious singer Amy Winehouse, right down to tattoos with naked girls, which the press for some reason nicknamed “lesbian”. After this, Nastya was bombarded with a barrage of questions regarding her sexual orientation, to which the singer replied that she likes everything beautiful and, of course, beautiful women as well: beauties cannot evoke any other feelings in her than admiration.

In 2015, as part of the new album “Shield and Ball,” Potap and Nastya recorded a joint composition with the “queen of Russian folk r’n’b” Bianca. The “Dog Style” video was very provocative, as it was intended: “This is not an ambiguous hint, but a direct and frank song-dance that illustrates the dreams of any man,” the musicians said. Nastya Kamenskikh prepared for filming the video for 11 months, training three times a week with a personal choreographer.

However, two weeks after the start, Nastya left the program for a tour in Germany, despite the contract signed with the channel’s management.
In 2008, Potap and Nastya were invited to play the main roles in the musical “Little Red Riding Hood”: they played the Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, respectively. Laima Vaikule acted as Cap's mother; the film also featured such stars as Timati, who played a biker, Ani Lorak, who played Sleeping Beauty, and Philip Kirkorov, who appeared as... a grandmother.
In the fall of 2009, Nastya Kamenskikh, together with Potap, took part in the “People's Star” show on the “Ukraine” channel. In a project where many famous artists performed, the creative tandem supported Ulyana Rudakova. According to the results of the competition, the Nastya-Potap-Ulyana team won by a large margin from the other participants.
As the artists themselves said, the final number was staged during breaks between flights and concerts, and besides, the performance was never rehearsed. It was invented by Potap: a trio dressed as Ninja Turtles depicted the struggle of the rest of the show participants for victory. The jury did not support the team's idea and rated their performance extremely low. However, in the end the trio still won.
In 2010, Nastya, together with Maria Berseneva, participated in the show project “Star+Star” on the “1+1” channel. Their couple was the favorite and decoration of the show until the last moment.

In 2014, Potap and Nastya voiced the characters of the German cartoon “The Seventh Dwarf”, Tusk and Spring, giving their characters a recognizable flavor of the duet.
Nastya Kamenskikh managed to try her hand at modeling. True, she decided to become a fashion model not for the sake of money and fame, but for the sake of her own interest. The girl did not like walking on the catwalk, because the kitchen of the modeling business shocked her. Nastya saw only envy and intrigue in the modeling behind the scenes, and after several appearances on stage as a model, the girl left the “cruel” business.
However, the girl happily poses in front of the cameras. Of course, Nastya has been recognized more than once as the most beautiful woman in Ukraine. The singer’s photographs often adorn the covers of the most popular glossy publications. She has done candid photo shoots for Playboy, MAXIM and XXL magazines.
On that fateful day, the girl, along with her lover, 19-year-old Vladimir, was going to celebrate the birthday of his younger sister Marusya - she was turning 15. Together with them in the car were the young man’s parents, as well as his second sister Sonya.
They were driving slowly along the highway when suddenly the car shook. The next thing Nastya saw was the blue sky, then the grass, and the sky again... After the fifth circle, the girl lost consciousness.
When she woke up, she did not immediately understand where she was and what had happened. She lowered her gaze and became numb with horror - her leg was torn to the bone. Looking around, she saw a mangled car and motionless bodies. The only one left standing was Vladimir. Despite his young age, he behaved like a real man. First of all, he performed artificial respiration on Sonya (as it later turned out, he saved her - the girl was not breathing and every minute could have been fatal). But neither the guy nor the doctors who arrived at the scene of the disaster had time to save the parents and Marusya... For Nastya, this tragic date, June 8, became her second birthday, because she miraculously remained alive. As a reminder of the accident, Nastya has a scar on her leg, stretching from her foot to her knee.
In July 2016, the girl faced another test. The singer was never into extreme sports, but still decided to experience new sensations by jumping with a parachute. He didn't open up. Fortunately, Nastya flew in tandem with an instructor, who saved the situation. They flew down using a reserve parachute, but the fall was still too fast. At some point, the thought even flew through Nastya’s head: “I won’t survive!”
As a result of the fall, Nastya injured her leg. The beauty was quickly taken to the hospital and operated on. Soon she posted a photo of herself on Instagram: smiling widely, she was lying in a hospital room with a bandaged leg. “Now I have a third birthday,” the girl joked sadly.

But the relationship did not stand the test of distance. Suspicions of treason began, caused by Nastya's growing popularity. One day, the girl’s father approached her and asked: “For God’s sake, find yourself a man from Kyiv!” Mom and I can’t listen to your swearing anymore!”
In 2009, the press trumpeted the breakup of Nastya and Vladimir. The breakup was very difficult for the girl, and in order to distract herself, she threw herself into work. But the former lovers could not end the relationship completely - they had experienced too much together. They still continue to be friends, and every year on June 8th they meet to celebrate the sad anniversary.
“We remain very close people to each other. We are like brother and sister at the moment!” Nastya’s ex-boyfriend told reporters.
Of course, Nastya was often credited (and continues) with a romantic relationship with Potap. But, as the star herself claimed, all manifestations of romance are just a game for the public to maintain the shocking image of the duo. Although, of course, over the years of working together, Potap and Nastya became practically family.
One day, one of the singer’s ardent fans created a fake page for Nastya Kamenskikh on the social network VKontakte, and even posted there photographs of some baby with the caption “My daughter Margarita. She’s already 2 months old.” In fact, Nastya Kamensky does not have children yet, but motherhood plays an important part in her plans: “I dream about children very often. There is love in my life now, but I have already realized that personal things need to be protected. I'll talk about it when I'm ready. And I’m sure: the Universe will send me children when the time comes.”
